Still required
- Prescription release practice16 CFR Part 456 (FTC Eyeglass Rule) — a prescriber must give the patient their prescription at no cost once the exam is complete.
- Contact lens prescription practice16 CFR Part 315 (FTC Contact Lens Rule) — applies only if contact lenses are dispensed. Mark "not applicable" if they are not.
- Licensed prescriber on siteMont. Code Ann. Title 37, ch. 10 — whether eye examinations are performed on site, and by whom.

Your prescription is yours
Under the FTC's Eyeglass Rule, an eye care prescriber must give you a copy of your eyeglass prescription once your eye examination is complete, at no extra cost, whether or not you ask for it. You are free to have it filled anywhere.
Bringing a prescription to us
We are happy to fill a prescription written elsewhere. Bring it with you, along with the date it was issued.
